In world travel can you get a tourist ship that goes all the way around the world leaving from Boston?
In the 1950s area "Slow Boat to China" was a favorite tune. I love to travel. Is there a way to Travel by boat from Boston all around the world to the other side to Thailand, Or would it be Boston Europe, Train then short plane flight for Bangcock? The only time I was on a ship was 1963 from NewYork to Germany aboard a military troop ship. I wonder if anyone here has gone that long distance to the other side of the world on a tourist ship?

TRAVEL BOSTON a week before christmas, any suggestion for the sightseeing spot in BOSTON?
I will stay for 6 dys, 5 nights. Think about going to NYC too, do you think it is possible? Is there any bus service to NYC?

There is bus service to NYC from Boston. Just beware of the cheap bus in Chinatown that goes to NYC. It's scarey or so I hear repeatedly. There is a lot to do in Boston. The North End has a lot of great Italian restaurants. My favorite is Al Dente on Hanover St. (great Italian food at a reasonable price) I like the Museum of Fine Arts. It depends on what you are into. I don't usually go into Boston in the winter. My husband and I go in the summer mostly because it's a walking city so dress warmly. Newbury St. is a cool place to walk because they have some interesting and unique shops. Of course, they have a lot of national stores now so it's lost some of its charm. There are some decent restaurants over there. You will have more fun in NYC but of course it's even more expensive than Boston.

you can go to the science museum or the muesum of fine arts. you can go to the aquarium. you can go to the Boston Bruins game or the Boston Celtics. You can go downtown, chinatown. You can go to the sea district and eat lobster. there is a ton of stuff to do in boston. Also, you can take the train to NYC. Just go to south station.

Don't miss Fanuel Hall!! It's awesome. They have some cheap buses to N.Y. but they are always breaking down or just don,t show up. The North End in Boston has some great places to eat. Massachusetts is big on decorating for xmas we have a lot of holiday spirit so no matter where you go you will see some pretty xmas lights. You should rent a car so you can sight see because there is so much to see. Have Fun whatever you do!!

How do I travel from Boston Logan airport to western mass?
I'm going to be flying into Logan airport. I know that MBTA connects to the airport, so I figured I would connect to Amtrak somehow and take it to Springfield.. What's the name of Boston's central station (the equivalent to NYC's Grand Central of LA's Union Station) where subways and trains converge?

You have many more options if you take Peter Pan Bus. Amtrak to Springfield (direct route) only runs once per day in each direction. Peter Pan has more than 8. Boston has 2 main stations where trains and subways come together, and those two don't directly connect to each other. South Station is the main Amtrak station, the main bus terminal, on the Red and Silver Lines, and the terminus for south and west-bound commuter rail. North Station has Amtrak's Maine service, north bound commuter rail, and the Orange and Green subway lines. ADDED: Peter Pan Bus also leaves from the Airport, no need to go to South Station.

The subways and and trains converge at all of Boston's RR stations. There is no central station but two terminal stations: South and North, and then there is a 2nd busy station, Back Bay, serving most but not all of the southward and one westward line, the one you will take for Springfield, which originates at South Station. There is at present only one train a day from Boston to Springfield, and I think reserved seats are necessary. You may wish to consider instead taking the bus, which leaves from the central bus terminal which is part of the South Station complex (one walks doen Platform 1 to reach the bus terminal from the train terminal). To get to South Station from the airport take the Silver Line articulated bus right at your terminal. The trip takes about 12 minutes.

What's the cheapest way to travel from NYC to Boston with a small dog?
Hi! I have an 18-lb French Bulldog who fits nicely in a Sherpa duffel bag. We will need to travel between NYC and Boston around the holiday. I have kind of a tight budget... renting a car is pretty steep. Any other ideas? Thanks!

Amtrak and bus companies won't let you bring your dog with you on board. And, if they catch you smuggling your dog on board, they'll kick you off. However, local train services might let you take your dog and you would have to call them to find out. Otherwise, you're left with two options: drive or fly. If these options are too expensive, the only alternative is to board the dog while you're gone or have someone stay at your house to take care of him. And, the cost of boarding the dog every day is probably more than the daily cost of renting a car.

How long is it take to travel from Boston to Niagra falls and from Niagra Falls to Mon treal?

It will take you about 7-8 hours to get to Niagara Falls from Boston and another 7-8 hours from Niagara to Montreal.
