A bus travel is easier. you know chinatown? there's a bus called lucky star that takes people to new york. i've heard that it's super cheap.
Answer 2 :
Your not going to believe this, but, when I was a Semi-truck driver, I would every-now-and-then see a guy/girl with a little sign (saying a city) standing by the door on the sidewalk outside the fuel desk at a truck-stop. It seems that "owner-operators" will take a rider (for free) to help them stay awake if they have a Hot Load and are pushing to make some extra money. Company drivers can't take you because they could lose their job. PS If you try this, don't talk to the drivers. Just stand there and look 'em in the eye.
Answer 3 :
Bus is going to be the cheapest. Megabus and Boltbus have fares starting at $1 depending on how far in advance you book your trip. You can also take Lucky Star Bus or Fung Wah Bus. Fung Wah is very cheap, but they have a history of horrendous drivers and crashes. Last year, Fung Wah had 2 buses catch fire and one crash into a tollbooth. All of that said, I recommend Megabus or Boltbus. You get Megabus at Back Bay Station on the Clarendon Street side in Boston and it takes you to Penn Station in NYC [34th st & 8th ave]. You get Boltbus out of the South Station Bus Terminal in Boston and it takes you to Penn Station in NYC [34th and 8th]. Both Megabus and Boltbus will cost about $20 round-trip on average. Could be less, could be a bit more. Still much cheaper that Amtrak, which is about $50 each way.
Answer 4 :
Ive taken funh wah and lucky star each a bunch... they are both fine. a couple of crashes a few years ago is nothing. if anythin it probably made safety a bigger priority. they run every hour all day every day- two crashes is nothing. they start at $1 and go up to $15. they go from south station to canal st (lucky star is right around the corner).
Answer 5 :
take the chinatown bus. ive also heard bad things about the fung-wah bus so you might as well take the lucky star. it leaves from south station in boston every hour starting at either 6 or 7am all the way until i think 10 pm, every day for $15. it arrives at 55 chrystie st. in chinatown, manhattan, same price and departing times back to boston from that address. if traffic is light, it takes about 3 hours to arrive in nyc (bronx) and another half hour or so to get to the stop in chinatown. plus, sometimes you can get a hand job on the bus with all the asians aboard
